Hello all!
It’s been a while since I’ve last written anything here — I’m sure I could muster up all of the excuses. My follow-up post to the Astronomical Super-resolution with U-Nets glares at me from the list of my drafts. I still have yet to port over some posts from my old blog. But what I’m trying to say is: there’s more on the way.
If you need something to hold you over, check out my Twitter thread on an exciting discovery that collaborators and I made earlier this year.

Using nothing but an optical image of a super-weird galaxy, and a neural network trained on lots of images and spectra for typical galaxies (you can read more about that here), we were able to identify signatures of accretion onto the central super-massive black hole! Purely from an image!
Stay tuned for more!
